WOMEN IN SKILLED TRADES

The Fall 2019 WIST ARP will begin the week of August 24th and will run for 13 weeks. Classes are held in the evenings on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and during the day on Saturdays, for the full 13 weeks.

The application for the Fall 2019 ARP cohort is closed.

Completing the application is the first step in the screening and selection process, which will include an eligibility review, skills assessment, and an interview with program representatives. Submitting the application does not guarantee acceptance into the program, nor does it imply that an offer of employment will be made by any of the partnering companies. Those who complete the program, however, will have gained skills and confidence for work in the construction industry, receive a nationally-recognized certificate of completion, and be given an interview opportunity with partnering companies.

APPRENTICESHIP READINESS PROGRAM

Do YOU want to work in a fulfilling career where you can earn a living wage and learn new skills?

WIST Apprenticeship Readiness Program (ARP) has been developed specifically to help women succeed in the construction skilled trades. Our 13-week program will kick-start your career in construction by introducing you to the fundamentals & basic skills of our industry, through a combination of classroom and hands-on activities.

Graduates of a WIST ARP are guaranteed an interview with one of our sponsoring Building Trades Unions, to join their Apprenticeship Program, where they can continue their on-the-job training while getting paid.

WE WANT YOU TO SUCCEED

PREPARING FOR SUCCESS

>  OSHA 10-hour Certification

>  First Aid/CPR/AED Certification

>  Sexual harassment awareness training
